The Varian magnet design team today comprises a unique combination of
magnetic, cryogenic, material and MR engineers and scientists. As well as manufacturing a wide range of MRI magnets, we also partner
with individual customers whose unique superconducting magnet requirements
mean a one-off special design is required.
Whether the requirement is an initial magnet feasibility study, magnetic
finite element modeling work or a complete gradient or superconducting
magnet system, the Varian Magnet Technology Centre team is always happy to
discuss specific requirements.
The design and manufacturing team for the Varian Actively Shielded 7T/830 magnet. This magnet, which will be installed later in 2010, is the world's first 7 Tesla actively shielded magnet for whole-body imaging.
Varian's 9.4T/89mm Premium Shielded magnet which is specially designed for use in dynamic nuclear polariser (DNP) applications.
