15th Solid-State NMR Workshop

Varian, Inc. Solid-State NMR Workshop on Advanced Topics in Solid-State NMR, after the 46th Rocky Mountain Conference on Analytical Chemistry

We are pleased to announce the Varian, Inc. 15th Sold-State NMR Workshop following the 46th Rocky Mountain Conference.

Thursday-Saturday, 5-7 August, 2004

We would like to invite those of you who will be attending the 46th Rocky Mountain Conference in Denver this year to the Varian, Inc. 15th Solid-State NMR Workshop. All users of Varian, Inc. and other spectrometers are invited to attend.

The Workshop (August 5-7) follows the 46th Rocky Mountain Conference, and includes meals from Friday breakfast through Saturday lunch. The meeting will be held at the University Park Holiday Inn, group reservation code - NVA, (next to the Colorado State University campus). The program schedule is posted.

In addition to contact information, please let us know if you will be using the shuttle buses or attending the banquet on the on-line registration form. The details for various workshop events are listed below:

• Thursday bus from the Rocky Mountain Conference -- A bus will be leaving at 2:00PM on Thursday afternoon from the Denver Downtown Hyatt and arrive at the University Park Holiday Inn in Fort Collins. The bus will arrive between 3:15 and 3:30PM. Driving instructions - If you are driving from Denver, take Interstate 25 north to Fort Collins and exit at Prospect (second Ft. Collins exit). Drive west (toward the mountains) on Prospect crossing the following major streets one mile apart: Summit View, Timberline, Lemay, and College. After crossing College proceed another half mile to the Holiday Inn on the left (10 story building, green sign on top).
• Thursday evening activities in Fort Collins-- There will be an informal gathering for those interested at Coopersmith's in downtown Fort Collins for shooting pool, eating, and sampling the local malt beverages. Several pool tables have been reserved for that evening. The first couple of pichers of local ale will be provided, no host afterward. Dinner may be ordered at Coopersmith's or any of the many downtown restaurants. Transportation via the Holiday Inn courtesy van will be provided to Coopersmith's for those interested. The courtesy van will leave for Coopersmith's from the Holiday Inn at 5:30PM and return from the restaurant to the hotel at 9:00PM.
• Meeting registration - Friday morning -- The meeting registration and continental breakfast will be in the Montana Room. Additionally you will be able to sign up for the afternoon lab rotations at the registration area. Please verify that we have reserved your space on the 12:30PM shuttle to Denver International Airport if you requested in the registration form. You pay the shuttle fare of $24US on boarding (cash or credit card, no checks).
• Meeting banquet - Friday evening -- The meeting banquet will be held at the University Park Holiday Inn on Friday evening after the technical sessions: 5:30-6:30 - mixer with hosted bar, 6:30-8:00 dinner.
• Shuttle from Fort Collins to Denver International Airport (DIA) -- We will be making group reservations for the Saturday 12:30pm shuttle to DIA. Indicate how many reservations you need on the registration form. To make separate shuttle reservations, go to Shamrock Airport Express.
